Recently, I was asking my aunt, Lois Hartman, nee Beierling, who grew up in Farmingdale, NY, about the Danish side of our family. She wrote, "My great grandfather was a sailor. I don't know his birthplace - in fact, when Barbara Ludwig tried to trace the Berg ancestors in Denmark way back, she couldn't find anyone earlier. I have a picture of Albert Berg's father - a handsome fellow - named Theodore Hansen Berg, I believe." Other family lore describes that side as coming from Hempstead and/or East Meadow. Do you have better genealogical information for me? Thanks so much in advance! - Alex (alexandraberrie@gmail.com)Ms. Lexiconhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06786974240841741847noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-608280292860999393.post-27655112955416926032013-07-17T09:52:42.997-04:002013-07-17T09:52:42.997-04:00I grew Up a few blocks from there and we spent a l...I grew Up a few blocks from there and we spent a lot of time in that cemetery as kids. There was also an empty lot next to it that we played in but I believe there is a house there now. There was a family that lived right next to the cemetery with the last name Wright but I don't know for sure if they were related to the grave you saw although that was the rumor at the time. I don't think they still live there. There was also a big grave stone with the name Sprague. It was knocked down I believe.
